Simple Bengal Gram Curry Preparation – Indian Recipes

Ingredients required for bengal gram curry preparation:

Bengal Gram Curry Preparation

 

  • Sufficient curry leaves
  • One Tsp of turmeric powder
  • Sufficient cumin seeds and mustard seeds
  • 3 Green chili
  • One Tsp of red chili powder
  • Sufficient salt.
  • One onion
  • Sufficient oil
  • One Tsp of coriander powder.
  • One spoon of coconut powder.
  • One full cup of boiled Bengal gram
  • One cup of hot water which is separated from the boiled bengal gram.

Bengal Gram Curry Preparation:

Initially heat the pan, put the stove in high flame and add the sufficient oil.

Once the oil is heated, put the stove in low flame, add mustard seeds and cumin seeds for tempering.

Once the tempering is done add curry leaves, green chili and onions. Fry them properly for atleast one minute in low flame.

Once every thing is fried, add turmeric powder which actually has some medical qualities like if there is any bacteria will be killed, traditionally used in many parts of India. Now allow for one minute.

After completion of one minute add coconut powder which is of one spoon, mix it gently and allow for one more minute in low flame.

After completion of one minute now add the boiled bengal gram and sufficient salt, mix it nicely in such a way the every ingredient present in the pan should integrate with each other. Every thing should become oily, now allow for 2 or 3 minutes.

In between like after completion of one minute add red chili powder, mix it thoroughly so that the chili should reach every corner of Bengal gram, so now allow for remaining period of time which is of 2 minutes.

After completion of total 3 minutes add boiled water (which is separated from boiled bengal gram), mix it gently and allow for 2 or 3 minutes in low flame.

After completion of 3 minutes the Bengal gram curry gets into a beautiful shape, add coriander powder, mix it gently and allow for final one minute.

After completion of final one minute, the oil reaches right at the top layer of the curry which means we are absolutely done with the hot and delicious Bengal gram curry.
